Schaghticoke, NY- Parents and guardians were able to obtain Operation SAFE CHILD cards from the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office for their children at the 2013 Schaghticoke Fair.

Operation SAFE CHILD provides parents or legal guardians with a card that includes their child’s/children vital information: date of birth, gender, height, weight, eye color, along with a photograph and fingerprint images of both index fingers.

The goal of this program is to record and store the fingerprints, basic biographical information and photographs of children who are not missing. The storage of information gathered will be digitally recorded and stored at a separate database at New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services.
